Water Park near the Adriatic Coast

Acquapark Egnazia, Southern Italy’s largest water park, is about 30 minutes by car. Open every day from end of June until around 12th of  September. Try to avoid the weekends during high season as it gets quite busy.

Take the Superstrada 16 to Bari and take the exit “Capitolo” (shortly after entering the Superstrada).

Zoo Safari Fasano

Take the road to Fasano. Exit FASANO (Zoosafari will be indicated just underneath the streetsign). Follow indications for Zoosafari.

Lunapark right next to the Zoo Safari Fasano

Right next to  Zoosafari is Fasanolandia, a Luna park with all kinds of attractions. The classic funfair rides are there, as well as several shows and exhibitions (watch out for “Puglia in minituare” which is fun and interesting). Latest addition is the Dinosaur museum.

Fasanolandia is set high up on the Selva, a hill leading up from the seaside to the Murgese plateau. To get the most out of the spectacular views from up here don’t miss the giant wheel.

The Caves of Castellana

About half an hour by car from us and open all year: The famous Grotte di Castellana are really quite spectacular. There are two tours: The first is suitable for children as well and stretches over about 1 km, lasting approximately 50 minutes. The second is 3 km and lasts about 2 hours.

Remember to bring a sweater as the temperature will be at a constant and rather humid 16 – 18°.
